Does anyone know if you can create a business account?
I think it might be really neat to potentially create an account for my company... make and share playlists with our community!
Any help would be great 🙂
Cheers,
JD
I don't think that this is what he meant.
I have the same problem: I already have a private account, but I would also like to have a business account to share playlists under the name of my business. I don't want to use my private account for that and I can't create a new one because of your Facebook integration.
There are some business account (sonymusicuk for example) out there, so it seems to be possible. Could you tell me how?
Right now, when you create an account, your Facebook details will be your username and password, coupled with the numbers you occasionally see. These numbers really are for our benefit only, so don't look too much into them.
I'd really suggest contacting our partners department though. They'd help you out as soon as they can.
I too am very interested in creating Business/Brand Account. I know it must be possible here in the U.S. because brands/companies such as Mad Dogg Athletics and EQSession (aka Equinox Athletic Clubs) have Spotify Accounts. There must be a work around to this.
hi i understand you can not create a buisness account but how is anthropologie and other companys do this:

thank you!

Hi Megan,
That's not a 'business account'. It's still a personal account, it's still tied to an individual user.
If you'd like to talk to us about a branded account, just contact the partners team here.
Seems REALLY short sighted that you can only customize your account by connecting it to Facebook. What if you don't want it connected to Facebook? What if you don't HAVE a facebook?
I have been using Spotify for a week now, and I honestly can't believe they are even in business. It really is second rate when compared to RDIO.
The fact that you can't setup an actual business account isn't that surprising considering all of the other things that are wrong with the platform...
Can somebody explain to me how I can get this 'specific username' for my business?
I have set up a second account, but after trying to connect to Facebook it takes over my personal name and picture. There is no way to remove the name and picture, not even after completely throwing out the facebook app.
My idea was to delete the account, but I also can't seem to find out how to do that?!
Please help me out.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂
I would suggest you get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to assist you to get everything set up and give you more information about partner accounts.
If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi Peter,
Thanks. Unfortunately the options at the online contact form are very limited. I can't specify my problem. If i choose: change personal settings, i am only able to choose from: i moved/have a different country/location or i have a new email-adress.
I find it strange, being able to control your name and picture should be very basic tools right?
What can I do?
Thanks, Xandra
Just select "the closest" option, it will go to an advisor anyway who can decide what to do next so the original category is not of maximum importance 😉

This is EXACTLY what I was wondering. On its blog, Anthropologie does playlists like these all the time:
http://blog.anthropologie.com/post/68470397434
http://blog.anthropologie.com/post/66725866931
http://blog.anthropologie.com/post/62445428334
http://blog.anthropologie.com/post/62337129132
Is Anthropologie paying some sort of royalty or subscription fee that enables them to do this? Is it a Brand Playlist? If so, why do Anthropologie's playlists generally contain 14-15 songs? Spotify's legal terms say "the Brand Playlists must consist of at least 20 songs."
My company would like to use Spotify on our blog -- we just don't want to get hit with a bill for thousands in royalties a few months or years down the road. I've submitted multiple requests via the "contact the partner team" and "contact Spotify support" pages, expressing our desire to do this the right way -- and our willingness to pay whatever we need to pay -- and have gotten zero response other than a form email that said to check for answers in the community.
Even on Spotify's Branded Playlists page, it tells you what a branded playlist is and what you need to provide to Spotify ... but it doesn't tell you how to get the ball rolling on that. Who do you contact? How much does it cost?
https://www.spotify.com/us/about-us/advertisers/ad-specs/branded-playlists/
Google "how brands should use Spotify" and you get 15 million results from marketing gurus about why Spotify is so great ... but virtually nothing about how brands can use Spotify legally, in such a way that we won't get sued or slapped with a royalty bill down the road. It's all very frustrating. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd sincerely appreciate it.
Great idea!
To use it for multiple sites in retail! Also in open plan offices so that you can have a business account that will play via one sound system that everyone can tap into and play music from.
Hey everyone!
Spotify for business is here! 😄
Soundtrack Your Brand is a Spotify joint venture and the exclusive provider of Spotify Business and Spotify Enterprise. Currently they only offer Spotify business accounts in Sweden, but they have plans for future expansion. 🙂
Hi there,
Did you manage to find this out? I'm currently having the same issue and would love to know how to (if possible) resolve this?
Thanks
