Different features on Android and IPad

Hi guys,

I have Spotify on my Android smartphone, and my friend has it on his IPad. He told me that the tablet version allows you to play any song you want, and to skip songs without premium. However, my phone is unable to do such things. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Hi there welcome to the community,

It is a phone restriction, not a platform restriction. Phones are only able to play songs in shuffle mode, while tablets can play songs normally.

yes your friend is right 😉 you can only choose your songs on tablet and on desktop when you are using premium 😉

but well i quote me now of an other post:

If you want to choose which song you want to hear on your phone you need spotify premium. Without this you can only shuffle your songs and it is more or less completely random which songs will be played 😉

If you buy premium you can choose your songs and you can also play them without an internet connection. You can also control your desktop app via your phone which is an incredible feature.
