Dynamic playlists - offline available

Dynamic playlists - offline available

Hi,

following situation:

I am following the "Top Tracks in Germany" playlist from Spotifiy.

This PL is changed from time to time.

I made this PL offline available on my smartphone.

When this PL is changed by the owner...

a) will the new tracks be downloaded to my device?

and b) will the tracks that have been removed from list also be removed from my device (incl. offline data)?

Thanks in advance

German greetings.

*PL = playlist 😉

Most likely not, as detailed in the help page below (for iOS) Spotify will keep the tracks in its cache incase you wish to use them again. It should however free up space if needed by another application.

The downloaded tracks won't update automatically so you need to update it manually from time to time.

If you follow the playlist the tracks should update and download automatically (from my experience anyways).

Oh, that sounds potentially dangerous but thanks for correcting me @Peter 🙂

So in my (short) time of  experience these dynamic PLs will update offline as well.

for example: I made my "Starred" playlist offline available, and every track i "star" now will be downloaded.

So i think this will be in the PLs from Spotify as well.

But my main question is whether these Tracks (and especially the cache data) will be deleteted as well.

So i think this method will be used in Android systems as well!?

Most likely, although luckily on android there is a clear cache button if it starts to use up too much space (although that will remove your offline playlists meaning a resync would be needed). On iOS and only way to remove the data is to reinstall the app!
