Bug: "Now Playing" icon fails to switch to the star on hover

I like to listen to new artists in the background and then star the songs that I like as they are playing. I also like to un-star songs if I'm tired of them. Normally if I want to star the currently playing song, I can hover over the "Now Playing" icon to see if the song has been starred and then click to star or un-star. However, sometimes the "Now Playing" icon doesn't switch to the star icon on hover, so I can't tell if the song is starred.

 

This happens intermittently and I can't actively reproduce the bug: it just happens sometimes.

 

I'm on a Mac Mini running OSX Lion. 

 

Has anyone else noticed this?

Here's a screenshot of what the bug looks like. 

 

When the cursor is over the "Now Playing" icon it should change to the star icon, but I've had that behavior fail intermittently.
