Certain Songs Won't Play

Since Tuesday certain songs won't play for me, it seems to be pretty random and usually about one song per album.

No timer starts when you press play and it eventually says:

"There is a problem with the connection to spotify. Pleas try again shortly. (802)"

Any ideas? I'm an Unlimited User.

Hey! :)

I know its a bit of a pain, but can you try a quick clean reinstallation of the client and see if that helps at all?

Re: Certain Songs Won't Play

hey! Thanks but I'm reluctant to do that as when I tried to download spotify again i got a message saying "Can't Install Spotify will try again in XX seconds"

I'm using a work computer so i'm scared that if i do a clean reinstall I'll lose it all together :(

Okay, we can do it without the reinstall ;)

Can you navigate to the Edit/Spotify > Preferences > Cache section and make a note of the Cache location.

Then File > Exit Spotify and manually delete that Spotify cache folder.

Once that is done launch Spotify again and see if you are still having issues? Do you ever get any other error codes which would point to a connection issue?

[ Edited ]

The default folder on windows is:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Spotify\Storage (App data might be a hidden folder)

Re: Certain Songs Won't Play

Are any of the tracks this is happening on stored as local files on your computer?

If not, would you be able to post a link to one of the tracks you are having issues with (Right click > Copy Spotify URI)
