On my Windows XP machine, whenever I click to play a local file, the song will not play, and a few seconds later the program will close completely with no error message.Streaming files work perfectly.
I have uninstalled, re-downloaded, and installed a fresh version, but the problem remains.
This happened right after I had to reinstall Windows. Before then, Spotify worked perfectly.
Anything else I can try?

I have a similar problem, spotify crashes when I select a song to pay.

Does anyone have possible solutions for this problem?
Spotify is pretty much useless to me if my local library won't play, but there's always ITunes that I never had any problems with.:)

Fixed the problem!
Was looking around the forums for similar issues, and came across the suggestion to update to the latest version of Quicktime. Glorious sounds are now coming out of my speakers!
I now don't have to return to Itunes. :)

I have the same issue; I am running XP and when I try to play a local file, Spotify crashes. The only message I receive is when I log back in, and am asked if I want to send an error report. I have uninstalled and reinstalled completely and have also update quicktime this morning, and after restarting Spotify I am having the same problem. Does anyone know what might be causing this? It seemed to have started only a few weeks ago.
