Hi
Been having a lot of problems with Spotify windows desktop version on Win7 recently.
:smileyfrustrated:
- Lot's of login problems last week.
- Front page What's New not loading.
- When I click on a track it decides it doesn't want to play. Sometimes it will start eventually, other times I have to select another track and then reclick the original track.
- Lots of pauses mid track.
- Freezes mid track with a popup error, Spotify can't play this track.
This is getting ridiculous and I am paying premium here.
I would download and stick with a previous version but the app auto downloads the latest version and installs after restarting so I'm stuck with a non working Spotify!
edit - just this minute a track has just paused again and now skipped to the next track!!! Aaaaarrrgghh!

I'm having the same problems since the last update. Or, not so much login problems, but tracks won't play, often without the error messages, and suddenly it skips or freezes mid-track. I'm also a premium member, it's too bad when you're paying for a product that doesn't work : (

That's it! Spotify has become UNUSABLE in the last few days. This morning there is so much pauses and skipping going on.
If it's no better within a week I shall be cancelling my subscription. It's useless at the moment.
Why should I be paying a monthly subscription for a service I can't use? I could get broadband or Sky TV for what I am paying Spotify.

Haven't had any login problems, but the non-playing songs I've experienced more off in the last week than I've had during the last year. Skipping ahead doesn't work either, neither does changing songs, unless it's one of my offline playlists..
I agree that this is ridicilous, but not so ridicilous that I would cancen my sub, but if it keeps up, I see no reason to be a premium member, as I'm not getting full value for my money.

For much of the last week I have been experiencing the same problems as above. I've never had any playback problems before now (there it goes again stuck on another track), and have been using for well over a year, but the last few days have made the service almost unusable with songs either freezing at random points or refusing to play altogether.
I have been using Windows Server 2008 for the last year, during which time I have had a flawless Spotify experience. Furthermore, other users are reporting the same problem on different platforms, so the operating system version is not a factor here. I am also a Premium subscriber and usually listen to Spotify throughout the day while i work from home, but this is becoming untenable due to freezing issues. To add insult to injury the Spotify service status reports no problems.
I can only imagine that this affects a huge amount of users, most of whom will not bother to post in a forum like this one; but instead will just discontinue spotify use and look for a more robust alternative. This service was great until very recently, what has gone wrong? If this is an issue with the latest update, please roll it back until you understand what the problem is!

Hello,
having the same problem (player stops at the end of tracks), I discovered a new option "crossfade tracks" in the preferences page.
I checked the box and the problem disappeared ..
hope this helps ..

Thanks for the info, I noticed this option too and will give this a try. However, this does not explain why tracks randomly freeze mid-track; the cross-fading option surely does not apply until the end of the song.
