I'm experiencing all these same problems.
Seriously considering cancelling my subscription if this isn't resolved soon: we shouldn't have to pay for a shoddy service.

Have you tried a clean reinstallation, including clearing your cache?
Please try give this a try--you could also try downloading our latest Preview version which can be found on our website: http://www.spotify.com/download/previews/

Yes, cleared cache, cleared files and re-installed several times. Only started happening since the App updated last week. I'll try the beta version you suggest.

Yes, I tried that. I'm not able to attempt the preview version again (the Mac in question is at work, Spotify thankfully runs correctly at home on my WIndows 7 and 8 machines), but I did attempt that yesterday afternoon in my downtime. Unless the preview version has been changed since around 3 PM yesterday, I don't think it would make a difference. :(

Yes, of course we tried a clean re-install, including caches... And I think I'm already using the cross-fading version mentioned.
Any other suggestions?

Anybody try using an older spotify version from a time machine back-up yet?
