Hello,
I just formatted my computer and had loads of local tracks on Spotify playlists before and they played without any problems. Now I downloaded Spotify again and inserted the same local tracks to the playlists, but they won't play. I noticed that they are all MPEG-4 or other files than straight mp3's... but why the hell did Spotify play 'em before formatting without any problems?

Spotify relies on codecs from Apple in order to play these files properly. In order for those files to play, try making sure you have the most recent version of Apple QuickTime and iTunes installed. Once you've installed these applications, the .m4a files ought to play. If any of them are .m4p files, they probably will not.
Hope this helps!
