Hi!
It's happening again. I added a bunch of 'Lilac & Champagne' tracks to a playlist, and suddenly I've had 4-5 users pop up in my people sidebard, and they all have Lilac & Champagne in their top artist list. <X-files theme goes here>
Edit: And a bunch of unrelated and unknown peeps in my actual people list - that's a new one tbh.

i've noticed similarities like that to.
on a side note: lilacs & champagne is awesome.

at this point this isn't even funny any more! i'm getting really pissed!
admit that this is happening on puropse already! (yeah - you read that right. This whole thing is happening on purpose.)
there is no way that your programmers are that stupid or that your databases are that fuc*** up.
Do you really want to tell us that you can manage 16 Mio Songs perfectly, can provide super performant live-search features but cannot filter a list of (avg. 130) friends?! Seriously?!
The worst part is that you guys are pretenting to work on a fix for the last three weeks.
I cannot believe this :/
// sorry if this post is a little over the top ... but ... there isn't even an official bug notice on the spotify side... a "we are workin on it!" post here in the forums obviously doesn't count as this is a major privacy issue

I agree witht he above post, its a bit of a joke really. three weeks to no real reply.
You have glossed over the privacy issues to say the least. It's as if your not even taking the whole situation seriously.
Do us paying customers all get a free months subscription due to your lack of dillegience? (How many other companies prolongs that much of a privacy issue to its paying customers and gets away with it?)
Surely you team is not this imcompotent?

Well, since my last post it's been very quiet again, nothing except for one person in the main "people" list who refuses to go no matter what I do. Tonight though, another one has turned up in the side bar. Why can't Spotify introduce an easy right click way of getting rid of them, surely that can't be too hard to introduce? :smileyfrustrated:

To whichever Spotify employee occasionally checks in to this thread:
I've cancelled my account and removed my credit card information. I don't feel comfortable with your company holding my credit card number and information given that you can't even manage something as fundamentally important as unsolicited people connections.
I've so far convinced two other friends to cancel their accounts because they, like most people, take privacy issues seriously.
As I've noted in other posts, I do realize that the loss of a few customers is meaningless to Spotify. However, I will continue to advise, whenever a conversation turns to music streaming, to avoid Spotify due to a complete lack of respect for user privacy.
At this point, even if you do fix this problem, I won't be coming back unless you give a detailed explanation of what went wrong and why. As I said earlier, I no longer trust you company to hold my credit card information.
Goodbye, Spotify. You really screwed the pooch on this one.

Hi,
why am I getting song history (on the right side of the client) from people I have never met, heard of, or asked to be added there?Does that happen with me to anyone else?
Besides, the sharing settings are really confusing and I constantly wonder whether people see what I'm playing or not (not that it's that important, but still, it seems rather unprofessional). And I am totally aware of the settings in the preferences, but they are unclear..for instance, does the settings sync, or do I have to check them every time I use a new platform? Do they really work as I think (not that you can answer that, point is I find them confusing and nondescriptive)? What about Android? Why doesn't the Android app have same settings as the desktop version?
I recently disconnected from Facebook. Do the people having me in their list when I was in Facebook still see my song history (in other words, am I still added as a user in their list)?
I might actually want to share more than I do right now, but I feel that Spotify isn't clear on how/where/when things are shared.
