Re: iPhone 4S not appearing under my devices

Make sure that your phone is connected to the same network your computer is on, and that you have the Spotify app on the phone open and in the foreground, and try and prevent the screen from turning off.  If you do this, it ought to show up in the device list on Spotify.  If not, reboot your phone by holding down the power and home buttons on your phone for ten seconds, and then after the phone turns off, hold the power button until the apple logo appears.  After the phone is finished rebooting, try synching again following the above steps.

Re: iPhone 4S not appearing under my devices

That didn't work.  I have tried it at home and at work.  Do I need to take Spotify off of one of the computers?  This is frustrating, becasue i am paying for Premium and not able to get what I am paying for.

Re: iPhone 4S not appearing under my devices

It shouldn't make a difference how many computers you install Spotify on.  Do you have your iPhone connected the compputer you are trying to sync with using the USB cable?

Re: iPhone 4S not appearing under my devices

I do not have the phone connected to the computer.  I am trying to do it over the wifi network.

I can connect to the computer if that would help

Re: iPhone 4S not appearing under my devices

Connecting it to the computer might work, but it probably won't.  Some people have reported that it won't show up at all when connected via USB.  I'm not sure if the latest preview version fixes this issue.  I have a couple of other suggestions for you, however.

First, close down the Spotify app on any computer on your network that might have it open.  Then, close the app on your phone.  Don't just go to the home screen, but actually close it by double tapping the home button, press and hold on the Spotify icon on the bottom bar (may require you swipe a screen or two over to the right) until the icons start shaking, then hit the 'x' icon on the top of the Spotify icon.  After you've done that, press the home button until you return to your home screen.  Once Spotify is closed everywhere, launch Spotify on the computer.  Once Spotify has completely loaded, launch Spotify on your phone, and keep an eye on the devices section.  Does it show up then?

If that does not work for you, it's possible that the new preview version may fix the issue you are having.  You can read more about it, and download it in this thread:  http://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-Announcements/Preview-release-Spotify-Desktop-0-8-5-Gapless-...

Re: iPhone 4S not appearing under my devices

I've just given this a go myself and managed to get it working.. Although it took me a moment to remember my Wi-Fi was turned off.

Ensure you are logging in with your "rlwoliver" account on both devices, rather than your email address at all. Hopefully, it should pop right up.

Failing that, do you run any firewalls on your computer at all? Might your router have any internal firewalls?

Re: iPhone 4 won't show up in Devices

I can't get my iPhone 4 to show up while wireless or connected. It's on the same Wi-Fi network as my PC. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the apps multiple time son both the PC and iPhone. I'm not sure whta else to do. Any help is much appreciated.

Re: iPhone 4 won't show up in Devices

Hi everybody,

I notice the same issue as you. I tried the same as mcspence, reinstalled both iPhone app and Desktop app, erased my icloud save thinking it was some problem with the save. It did nothing more and I can't see my device appear in the Desktop app.

I use the port 4070 and 80 TCP as it is written in the FAQ but it also did nothing.

I came to think that the issue comes from Spotify service, am I right?
If this is the case, can someone confirme me this and if something is gonna be fixed?

Thanks for reading and I also apologies for my english (French)

Re: Iphone not showing up in devices/ Unable to sync local files anymore

bump! This has been bothering me since I initially signed up for Premium last summer. I sent a direct query to the Spotify support team, and I got the following reply:

"You need to go to the Spotify application on your mac -

then you'll see your iPhone under the 'devices' section, if you click on it and click 'sync this device with Spotify' and make the list offline in that menu they will transfer =)"

...which of course is the whole reason I wrote to Spotify Support in the first place -- my device isn't showing up under the 'devices' section to begin with!! :smileymad:
