Hey!

It looking good although it only appears on the /no/ site?

The issue I have discovered is that if I post a link on the community, to say the clean reinstallation instructions, for which i would link to:

http://www.spotify.com/help/faq/tech/clean-reinstallation-of-spotify/

without the country code, if when the community member clicks the link, it goes to the Norway site, they get a 404 error. Is there any way to maintain the old links so that they continue to work in all countries until the new help section goes fully live?

Similarily, if i try to go to /uk/problems the new beta site isn't there so I get a 404 (which is expected).

Hey. Looks good - a lot of content.

You really need to move the search box below the 'let us solve your problems' banner and make it larger and much more prominent otherwise people just see an arrow pointing down to an overwhelming list of topics.

Re: New Help Section!!-give us feedback

Thanks! - We actually had a a few different layout proposals where the search was more centralized. The main reason why we put it in the upper right corner was for it to always be available (without having to move it around).

What we notised when doing user tests was that having the search to close to the 'topic' buttons was that it was considered  to be confusing. Perhaps we should go back and re-evaluate this.

We'll take your feedback with us to the drawing board again! :)

Re: New Help Section!!-give us feedback

Thanks Peter, you are absolutely right.

We are aware of these problems and haven't had the time to re-direct the old links to the new one yet. The 'normal' behavior right now when hitting an faq article without the market prefix should take you to the "support start page". There is no plans at the moment to do the opposite (link the new articles back to the old articles) since we hope to continue and only have one site as soon as possible.

Long story short: We will try our very best to re-link all the old faq article to the new ones once we launch the Support site. :-)

Re: New Help Section!!-give us feedback

It looks good, I like that you've got options to narrow down the questions. The only thing I can think of that I'm missing is somewhere to submit a new question if I can't find the answer in your FAQ section. I know this will likely lead to a lot of people being lazy and not searching for the answer before submitting a new question, but the option to do so should still be available. The best solution would probably be to just refer people to your support account on Twitter if they feel they haven't found the answer in your FAQ section. I didn't see a referral to @spotifycares on the page?

Re: New Help Section!!-give us feedback

It still needs a lot of work, but here are some suggestions.

  1. The discoverable of filtering is not obvious. Make is so the user HAS to drill in to the problem they are having, by presenting them with a simple grid of options (Account, Payments, Technical, Features") Border the options so the user knows they can click on them. (currently looks like a header/banner image)
  2. Move search into the body of the content and make it larger.
  3. Instead of expanding articles, I suggest sliding in from right to left, similar to an iOS navigation experience. Make the article the only focus in that column when in focus, so the user does not see the other article titles, Currently it is cramping the user. They want to focus on that one article.
  4. Add larger "problem" context tabs at the top of the content related to Problems, for example currently there is Community in the top nav, and in the sub nav, and Community help in the side bar. It's confusing. Hide all of that noise in the side bar and just have large tabs to switch context from filtering articles, to community help at the top of the page.

Re: New Help Section!!-give us feedback

I just wanted a place to tell you guys how much I think you guys at Spotify are bonafide G's. I don't even know what to say anymore. Just don't change for anyone, no matter what they offer you. I feel like Spotify developers should never have to pay for a drink ever again in their life. Stay true. Real **bleep** wassup.
