It here.  We're pleased to announce the new Spotify version for Android is now available for preview.  Here's what you'll find if you give it a shot:

• Totally new app with full support for Android 4.0
• Top-to-bottom redesign
• All-new slide-out navigation
• Even more social - check out friends’ profile pages and playlists on the go
• Artist imagery in high resolution
• Related artist view - available for the first time on mobile
• So much faster!

That’s not the end of it. We’re working hard on adding further features, including folders and Last FM scrobbling, before the app goes live in Google Play.

In order to get your hands on the all-new Android preview, firstly set your phone to allow installation from ‘Unknown Sources’ by going to the Settings > Applications > Unknown sources menu. Once that’s done, click on the button below on your phone to get the update.

You used to give us the option to move the offline cache to an external SD card on the login screen.

Yeah! So glad to see the the new app :smileyvery-happy:

First the good: the app looks really good, is well thought and works already better than the "old" one. :heart:

Nice to see it's a work in progress.

A few suggestions:

• better navigation features when offline (sort by artist, album, etc. when multiple tracks available offline belong to the same)
• a whole library folder (like in the "old" one)
• controls on the lockscreen and the status/notification bar
• top tracks/albums on a country level
• widgets
• mobile version for the apps

Very happy to eventually get the app Spotify deserves :smileyhappy:

Everything seems much better, only gripes are the playlists section is a little too simple looking for my liking! Also the download notification will not clear from my notification bar. Other than that it's 100 times better than the old one (so far!)!

FIrst of all, thanks a lot for this preview and glad to see a new Android version of the Spotify app. The previous one was getting quite old now.

The revamped UI is really cool and clean.

However, I have some comments to make for improvements :

• No widget on this version either compatible with Android <3.x and/or compatible with Honeycomb/ICS with scrolling feature
• No landscape mode
• And more than that, no tablet optimized UI (!!). Come on, Android 4 aims to be used on both smartphones and tablets!
• No complete library screen to be able to shuffle among all the tracks added in all playlists
• No artist/album or library navigation while on offline mode
• No playback of local file anymore
• No crossface option

But definitely a major improvement compared to the previous version. Nice work!!

I like the simplified new look. But it still needs some playlist sorting options- sort by artist, by date added, by song title, etc.

Two things I wish for:

1: Widget 

2: Currently the "menu" button on my phone has no function in spotify, unlike the old app. I wish that when I'm in the main menu (where the playlists are), and i press it, that it opens up the options menu.
