Spotify Ideas Review
Every month the Community Team reviews our Ideas Board and present the ones we’ve updated in the past 30 days.
We've been busy updating numerous ideas this July that needed a status change.
Our in-app equalizer is rolling out as part of our latest iOS update for the iPhone and iPad.
Just open iOS app (version 1.5.0) and go to Settings > Playback > Equalizer to access the new feature.
We're rolling out some improvements to our content validation so you should start to see this improve later this year. Please watch this thread for updates.
This idea is now Implemented for iPhone and Android users. Just go to Your Music > Playlists and hit the Filter icon at the top of the screen.
You can now add an entire album to either a new playlist or to an existing one when using your Android.
8. Sort and filter tracks inside a playlist on iPhone.
We've got an update for this idea which is still "Good idea, give it some kudos. As of the iPhone update 1.4.1 you can filter the playlists in your iPhone.
Just go to your playlist and scroll above the playlist artwork. You'll then see the new filter section.
Bring us your ideas!
We also want to give a massive shout to our Idea guardians @Marco, @blake @Fred and @pnc for their help in the Ideas board. If you're interested in becoming an Ideas Guardian too just fill out this form right here.
The team is hard working keep all your Community Ideas updated so keep an eye on the board for more news.
I would like to say a huge thanks to @meahtenoha , @Goodman and @Rorey for helping us as we try to help everyone else. Without you guys we wouldn't be able to do our part. It's a team thing, and as Meredith says, we would love to have more users help out. Anyone who wants to help out, but not sure how, can contact me or any of the others Meredith mentioned.
And this is the month I switch to your competitor because you obviously don't want to listen to your community and support Chromecast...
Any insight into how these implemented ideas were chosen?
"4. Add an entire album to an exisiting playlist [Android]."
This idea garnered a HUGE 58 kudos in 16 months.
"3. Only show available playlists whilst offline."
Wow, this got 121 kudos in 30 months!
That's right, in the entire month, you managed to get two ideas implemented that less than 200 people cared about.
Meanwhile, we're at more than a year and nearly 6,000 kudos on Chromecast and still haven't gotten a real answer about when or if it will ever come. Only every other competitor has managed to include it in their service. The Chromecast thread is full of people who quit and left Spotify absolutely disgusted at the way they were treated.
Maybe stop touting these small potatoes accomplishments while you let a subscriber mutiny fester?
Honestly, Meredith, is that too much to ask? To actually have Spotify use these forums as they're intended, using a kudos-based meritocracy? Or will these updates continue to be "Things Spotify decided to add that conveniently had an ideas thread from a year or two ago that a couple dozen people care about"?
I don't want to come across as if I'm not appreciating that the service has MANY places it needs to improve on constantly, but all these threads do is highlight how useless the forums actually are. There's literally nothing else that people care about as much as Chromecast. Why doesn't each business day at the Spotify offices begin with: "How can we help solve the single biggest issue our customers have with the service?"
Finally the iOS EQ is here! 🙂
Good work guys!
