Spotify Ideas

Instead of having to fiddle about with playlists and playlist folders, just let us drag artists into the sidebar. Like this.

The artits pages are kep up to date by Spotify with all new releases automatically appearing in there and zero work for the user. All artists have a unique URI, it would be easy.

@krikelin - I don't think that's the reason. It's never stopped Spotify before from releasing features on only one platform. Android still (even in the new ICS compatible preview version) doesn't have playlist folders or any way of sorting within playlists. Why would Spotify start now with holding back features until they are ready for all platforms?

@Richard. I'm happy for this idea to be merged with the 'subscribe to artist' idea although adding an artist to the sidebar and wanting to be notified if the artist releases new stuff are two separate things. 

As long as there's an option to A) pin an artist to the sidebar and B) subscribe to new releases from them then we'll all be pretty happy :)

Todays release is probably a part of the whole upgrade - we'll probably see more later. Just make sure this get plenty of votes

Adding vote #200. :) I'd love to see this.

It's not difficult but it is slightly infuriating having to search manually, or click into playlists where I know artists are located, in order to navigate to their artist page. Clunky, awkward, not good.

It must be the same as Simfy.. stared with Artist, Album and Titel in the Sidebar. Album only with cover display in the middlewindow, Artist only with picture from Artist in the middlewindow, and Title a list of all titles in the middlewindow..

All displayd in the middle of the window, not on the sidebar!!! All in the Sidebar is to much ....

That is, why some Users don't switch from Simfy. I miss that in Spotify extremly :)

The Playlist is only for Titles, they i need to listen special. Not for Artist or Complete Albums.

Not to Playlist.. that is to long.

Better als Star with Album and Title and Artist.
