Spotify Ideas

For me, Spotify would improve a lot if playlists would get a album or artist view, in which all the songs in the playlist get groupedby album or artist respectively. Just like iTunes does it. Spotify seems to be very song based rather than album based (which might reflect the modern way of thinking about music) but I still have plenty of playlists that rather are album based, e.g., a list of my favorite new albums at the moments. It would be great if there was a view option where songs would be clustered per album so that I, or one of the people who I share the playlist with, could listen to one album out of this playlist.

Alternatively, a different approach to playlists could also work for me, where you have one type of collection (let's keep calling these 'playlists') that contains single songs, and another type of collection (with a different name, e.g., 'crates') that are use to organise and share a collection of albums.

Maybe we need to mentio the competitors to get people moving? ;-)

The deezer apps have exactly this functionality, and I enjoy it a lot

I am sorry to say that the IPad app has a bit left before you can use it like the bigger "pc" versions.

the only way i found to play strictly albums is to do a search on an artist and from there choose the album i want !?

I hope that this appbehavior is att misstake, and not a planned feature....

All of the my playlist's is almost useless on my IPad just because of this.

The functionality is there somewhere, it works (did work?) on the iphone app why not implement it on the ipad app?

so please listen to the "crowd" i am convinced that there are many many more that are quite frustrated over this problem.

Great Idea,

One NEW SUPPLEMENTAL IDEA I thought of, would be to create a non-linear list feature.

Instead of creating a playlist, you would create a music group / bin / Collection, and with that you could make something different than a "playlist" , like a node for saving albums/songs.  Prefereably in a way that's not oriented to a sequence.  So instead of a list, it could look similar to the albums portion of an artist profile, showing all the albums in the group, one could organize by release date, artist, album name, popularity and so on... For me personally  I like to organize/group albums together and this would be an amazingly convenient way to do that. 

Also a way to convert a playlist to a group would be helpful as well.
