I would love to be able to sort my playlists by Artists, then drill down by album so as not to clutter my Spotify. It's pretty hard to organize my playlists the current way. Any ideas on a future iteration that will enable this capability?
As inane as it sounds, I would like a way to read the tag and sort by year of release. It would make some playlists I have created to sort a bit quicker. :)
Hi!
First time poster, very long time user of Spotify.
While I do have a selection of self-made playlists, lately I have utilised Spotify playlists websites lately to discover new music. I got the idea that having some sort of rating column - similar to popularity on search results - would be an awesome thing to have while viewing others' playlists. If I want to check out, say, an Electronica / Dance / House playlist, and said list has 500 songs - most of which I am unfamiliar with - it would be great to have some sort of indication as to what songs might be worth checking out first. A type of popularity rating that looks at of how many times said song has been played; added to someone's playlist; added to someone's starred list; and shared.
I feel a feature like this could further increase Spotify's abilities to help people discover new music.
Cheers for a wonderful service!
"In Alphabetical Order"
En funktion lika självklar som att solen går upp imorgon!!
Playlist´s in alphabetical order; PRONTO!!!!
Product pain point: I use playlists as "saved albums," since I tend to listen to music by album. This means that I have several screen's worth of albums that are "<artist> - <album>". I try to keep them organized by genre/mood, but the more I use Spotify, the harder this becomes. Some sort of organizational system would make my use of Spotify way simpler.
Potential solutions that come to mind are playlist tags (genre, artist, mood, or whatever could just be free-form per-user tags) or a hierarchical folder system, but neither of these seem great. Pretty much any organizational system would be better than the current "gigantic ordered list" of albums/playlists.
Am I using playlists in a way other than they were intended? Is my use case representative user behavior?
Thanks for Spotify!
I agree with you, jbr. I have the same display as you, which is a super humongous right-click menu everytime I want to add a new album/song to an album.
I thought a folder system to sort the albums was perfect, but jbr came in with much more good ideas. Please use them. (I want to be able to choose which album goes in which folder, though)
I know it's not really the solution you're looking for, but you do know that you can already create single-step playlist folders, right? It isn't clear from the initial message. I make heavy use of this feature.
I noticed that when I add a track to one of my playlists it is put into alphabetical order according to title of the track. However in my other playlists the tracks are entered at the bottom. How can I make my playlists add the tracks in alphabetical order ?

Hello folks!
We are going to mark this as "under consideration" since we have passed it internally and we are working on good ways to improve the playlist sorting options. Keep an eye on this thread, we will update you all as soon as we have news.
Thanks for your feedback and awesome ideas :)
