Spotify Ideas

Spotify app seem to focus on listening to individual tracks. My usecase (that I think is quite common) is to listen to albums.

One way to make this easy would be to starring albums and even artists and playlists. Then a good interface to list the starred albums, artists and playlists is needed.

Dear Spotify Users, i am listening to much Music but i'm tired of making a Playlist for each Artist to listen to. Would'nt it be great to starr an artist like you can do it with the titles?!

This idea is spot on.  I can't understand why it has so little kudos.

I'd love to be able to star album and artists and then pick from a list or thumbnail screen, or play random tracks from my starred albums and/or artists.

There is clearly a need for this when you look at the many thousands of playlists which are just an album tracklisting.  We are forced to do this to remember albums we want to hear and it is totally subverting the spirit of playlists.  Playlists should be more creative like mixtapes or themed compilations.  There are plenty of creative things in there but they are utterly drowned in the sea of album tracklists.  (Dozens of which are mine I admit...)

I constantly find myself wanting to star artists as favorites. I typically hear of artists from outside sources and there have been a few times when the aritsts newest track or albums aren't up yet.  I would love to be able to star or subscribe to an artist and get adigest style update when something new is added for them?

ex. A new band to me, Wild Nothing has a new single, Paradise, and album, Nocturne, coming out which I found out about from this month's Paste Magazine sampler. It's not on Spotify yet but I'd love to know when it is because the previews I've heard are really good.

This is a MUST-DO.  I want a Library of artists and albums... Spotify's current philosophy - that Playlists are all that count - is just wrong. Artists and LPs are still how most people want to listen and organise their libraries. Sort it please guys, please!
