I wrote an email about this a while ago and got a response back that it's something they would like to maybe do but they needed more interest in the idea before they devote time to it.
I'm not sure if this is for the other mobile apps too but I know my adroid app doesn't have this. Basically, there are a few music apps (not sure if I can mention the name but one I used to use a lot with the initials W.A.) out there that have check box in settings that lets the app use the headset/headphones to control play, pause, skip, etc. instead of controlling the phone.
Right now, if I try to use the controls on my headphones to play, pause, or skip while in the Spotify app it will simultaneously dial the last incoming or out going number in my phone.
It's just handy, especially in the winter so I don't have to haul my phone out of my pocket or dig in my bag for it, I don't have to haul off my gloves, mittens, or go buy special ones to use the touchscreen (I would imagine it would be a pain if your exercising or something like that too)...only have to click one of the buttons on my headphones.
Thanks!
Pressing spacebar in an app scrolls the page (or does nothing). I know this behaviour comes from the fact that apps is built using web technogly and run in Chromium that's embed into Spotify desktop, but almost everywhere else in Spotify spacebar is play/pause.
Also: Make cmd+L (OS X) focus the search input in apps/radio (as it is in the rest of the app) (I know that option+cmd+F works for this in apps/radio)
When I decide I want to listen to music, I come to a stand still at one final decision: iTunes vs.. Spotify, which music player to open? If I could, I would eliminate this dilemma that causes my music listening experience to be shortened and is more bothersome when it comes to keeping a computer strictly clean (I'm all about minimalism).
So my idea is: Is there a way to add control/management over your iPod and/or other mp3 device? Think about controlling your music library and peripherals in one place upon having the great music library at your disposal.
Double tapping the home button on my iPhone brings up simple audio controlls like prev/next song, play/pause and volume as well as telling me which artist, song and album is playing.
What would make it even better would be the ability to star a song right from the lock screen. Meaning that I don't need to unlock my iPhone (maybe switch apps to Spotify), tap Now playing (because I'm almost certainly somewhere else in Spotify than the current playing playlist), tap the cover art and then finaly tap the star icon. Few! That's an awfull lota work for something so simple.
