When I sit down and listen to spotify I like to take time off from everything. However, it feels like spotify is just getting more and more connected to things! Now we have the facebook connect and recently it has started with a side tab that says "This is what your friends are listening to - updated in real time" . This tab got activated without my permission. I would like to have control over my account and would therefore request that you implement an option that turns of all sort of connection with social media networks. I know there's a similar function "private session" but this is automatically turned on and off when I have been inactive for a while. A simple button in preferences that turns all sort of connection not only the sharing of what I listen to but also what other people listen to would be great and ensure that I stick with spotify.
Great work so far!
I view an artist's page. I see 15 followers. I know that one can not simply "stubble" upon this artist ... it MUST be searched for. So who are these people ? These chosen few who share a similar taste in melody, these who knew they're way to treasure, these 15.
My wish; is to go to an artist and see these followers and their "Starred Tracks", to know who these people are, to discover more of what I desire, I want to follow these followers. If this impossible, then at least show me playlist that a particular song has been added to.
Without the ability to know who these followers are, what point is there in showing the number of followers ? ... it is a taunt.
... I call for a more social Spotify.
As Richard mentioned, sharing can be turned off in settings and you can hide the people list.
Most of the comments were actually demanding different private session settings.
