I primarily use Spotify daily while in my car because I am a Marketing Rep which requires my 9-5 is strictly behind the wheel. I've completely replaced my iPod with Spotify but I find it's hard to "Star" a song while on the road. I use my Star folder as a way to eventually organize those songs into my subfolders.
I'm sure you know the way to Star a song already so I won't delve into those details but there is definite room to add a "Star" button by moving the "Last Song - Play - Next Song" buttons more to the left/right and placing the button there.
I love the star list. Am using it as my main music library. It would be great to be able to scan this list easily by artist name. I know the artist name is on their currently however it is more difficult to see than the song name. For me artists names are much more memorable that song names so I want to first scan for an artist, then choose a song.
My suggestion is to simply enable a toggle view option for the starred list so that you can choose to have the Artist Name in the principle, bold, large font and the song + album name in the secondary, smaller, non-bold font.
I end up scanning my starred list looking at the smaller, harder-to-read text.
Thanks!
Changed back to "new idea" status - once this idea reaches 40+ kudos the Spotify staff will review it again and decide on a new status. ;)
Is there a way to do this? if not could spotify implement it? And if that's not possible, does the API include hooks for an app to do it?
I am facing a real problem today: too many starred tracks.
And i just dont want to unstar them!
So what s really my problem:
- 2000 starred track
- i like to have them offline on my phone
Consequences:
- no more space available
- 2000 tracks in one playlist seems to be a lot for the iphone spotify app => getting really slow
Solution: starred sub playlist. Why:
- i can choose which subplaylist to store offline
- i can still have all those tracks as starred (i often go to an artist and look for my starred tracks, the idea being to select my favorite tracks)
What do you think?
This idea suggests an easier way to "star" tracks on iOS and WP8. Something like on Android, where the star button is next to the current song information on the "now playing" screen.
