Top Hits appears to be based entirely or mostly on the number of listens a particular song gets. But what happens in reality is that the first songs on the first record listed by an artist get a disproportionate number of listens, listens that aren't related to how popular or good or seminal the song is in relation to the artist's entire catalog.. This distorts Top Lists. The Top List algorithm should be tweaked to account for this bias, so that that it actually reflects the top songs by any artist. Or the Top List selections should be curated, either by the artist or by critics/writers.
Although this idea has been suggested first, I'd like to merge it with a more popular idea, that has a slightly more informative title/description to ensure this idea gets the best attention it deserves:
