My Spotify won’t play Joe Rogan Podcast. (Audio or Video)

My Question or Issue

Second post for this issue as the first post got listed under issue with Joe Rogan podcast video won’t play. My Spotify just won’t play the podcast, although the episodes are being updated. Saw some comments that say the issue’s been fixed, don’t think it’s entirely fixed. Can someone please look into this?

Thanks for the post.

Currently there are some issues with certain podcasts becoming unavailable globally. Our tech teams are investigating why this is happening and are doing their best to resolve the issue, however we have no official news on what exactly is causing this issue and when it will be fixed.

I'd recommend doing a clean reinstall of the app, following this exact guide. It's also a good idea to switch off any type of VPN that you might be using. If that doesn't help please let us know your current app version.

We'll then send your report to the teams investigating this. Alternatively, you can post this info in the other thread to which your first post has been moved.

Could you let us know if you're getting any error messages when you're trying to listen to the podcast episodes? Additionally, we'd like to know if this happens with all podcasts or only with a specific one.

On another note, would you mind checking if the issue persists while using a different internet connection?

This has been happening for a long time. Rogan won't play right now for me. All day today. Other podcasts work, and music works. YouTube works. Been on 2 different Wifis and 5G.

As a Rogan fan, this is a conspiracy to censor him.

Same, it worked briefly after a reinstall then back to nothing. I can also play anything else I want, except for the JRE.

It works on my computer though.

Yeah, for me there is no reason to pay for this service outside of podcasts, what is it about the Rogan Experience podcast that makes it unable to play, however, absolutely everything else I can find will play without a hiccup. This is strange, more strange yet is that they claim the issue as "resolved". I'll give it 2 days before I cancel my subscription

Just to confirm, does it happen with all episodes of the podcast or only with a specific one? Could you let us know the following:

your device's make, model and OS version
the version of Spotify you're running

Also, does clearing cache from the device make any difference? If possible, it's worth checking if the issue persists on another device or on the Web Player.

Other episodes don't work. It's still not working now. The only thing that has ever resolved it is a restart of the phone, but even that isn't working anymore.

Same for me, started a couple days ago. Everything else works. I can't even listen to previously downloaded episodes. Also a Pixel 6a, Spotify version 8.8.82.634

Same for me. Everything else works except JRE. A phone restart works for a short time and then back to literally none of JRE podcasts playing and everything else working fine. This is genuine tampering on the back end.

Same here in the Netherlands, can play all sorts of podcasts, but since a few days most of JRE podcasts are silent, won't start. As a Rogan fan it starting to smell a bit fishy 🙂

None of Joe Rogans podcasts have been playing for me for a week now, everything else plays and all the other podcasts/ music plays but his. wth??? Please Fix This!

Ditto over here. Can listen to anything else BUT Rogan. Stopped for me about 3 days ago. Doesn't matter the episode, none of them work.

Same kind of issue with JRE episodes except the player just freezees. Reinstalling the app helps but there freeze might happen again on the same day.

Music and other podcats run normally.

I haven't been able to play any JRE episodes for the past couple of days. Literally everything else on Spotify plays without hesitation, but with JRE it's just hanging on 0:00 with no picture.

I have been experiencing not being able to play JRE and other podcasts on my android phone. I found that forcing the spotify app to stop and then restart the app works.

Uninstall and reinstall works until the problem starts up again. Therefore, it becomes annoying to do it that way.
