Scam Whatsapp Groups?

Hi,

Just would like to check because I have recently been added into a whatsapp group by people claiming to be working with Spotify to increase awareness while letting you "earn money" at the same when you "spread awareness".

Is this a legitimate group created by Spotify or can I rule this out as a new type of scam method and leave the group?

I can confirm that this group and all other similar groups are not officially run by Spotify and they're not affiliated with Spotify in any way.

I've made sure that the group gets reported to the right team and if you encounter any additional groups, feel free to let me know.

I have recently been added to one of these groups, I am wondering where and how they have gotten our contacts? Is there a possible data linkage in Spotify? Please do look into this and revert to all of the users.

I can assure you that Spotify is secure and their records are protected.

They always check for leaks online from other services and alert those who might’ve been affected to change their passwords.

Unfortunately, they don’t have other details to share about your logins on other services. But rest assured they have dedicated teams working to protect your personal information.

This continues to happen. I was added to a whatsapp group A/A08/Spotify Music Group L2, as soon as I warned them that what they were proposing was a scam, I was removed from the group.

Please report this to the right person.
