How to listen offline to a shared playlist on Spotify Kids?

Hello, I would like my son to be able to listen to the songs from a playlist that I shared with him, without the need for the internet.

There is the option to put the heart icon on the songs and send them to favorites, but when we listen to a song from the playlist, that icon does not appear, nor is there an option to download the playlist.

Thanks for reaching out. At the moment, it isn't possible to download playlists on the Kids app, only the Favourites section is downloaded automatically. If this funcitonality is something you'd like to see, consider having a peruse through our Ideas board.

I’m experiencing the same issue. There is no heart icon on individual songs in a shared playlist on Spotify Kids. This worked before, as proven by my kid’s Favorites list that contains songs we had previously added - ones that are not available by searching Spotify Kids.

I have the same issue. I'm not interested in what the spotify editors think is suitable for my child (much of what is there i do not rate at all) - I want to be able to curate the playlists myself. Unfortunately, only a subset of the songs I want to share with them are available in the spotify kids curated set (despite them all being suitable for kids). This severely limits the usefulness of spotify kids - especially since I just forked out for special 'spotify' devices for them to use to listen to their music off-line.

Thanks for posting in the thread.

You should be able to share playlists that you've created on your own account with your child. However, keep in mind that only songs in Favorites can be downloaded, and we cannot guarantee that songs from the shared playlists would be able to be added to that section, as that depends on a number of factors.

We're always working on improving the service and its features, and this feedback helps us know where to focus our efforts. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

Hi Maria,

I am aware that I can share playlists but this is of no use to them on a device that only plays off-line playlists. Most of the songs I want to share with them are not available through spotify kids, and thus cannot be added to favourites and made available off-line.

Another voice asking to allow kids to favorite songs from shared playlists. We nearly had a meltdown at not being able to listen to certain songs offline. Not fun as a parent! Please allow us to favorite and/or download playlists! My child doesn’t have a cellular plan. He uses an old phone that isn’t connect to a plan and relies on WiFi. Being able to play offline is a must.

There is no heart icon anywhere in the kids app, so apparently there is no way for them to download anything or listen off of wifi. This is an easy fix on your end and as many parents have already pointed out, needs to be addressed immediately. As it is, there is no way for my kid to play without being on wifi, which severely limits the benefit of paying for family accounts and devices for kids to listen. We don't want our kids on wifi all day, and we need them to be able to download their shared playlists so they can listen on the go (car, park, etc etc). Please and thank you!

This is absolutely ridiculous that this has not been resolved yet. Do you guys not have any developers anymore?
This is a common sense thing to add, since the parents should be the one controlling the music and whether their kids are online or not. It’s a feature that if it doesn’t change soon, we will likely switch providers.

I realize this is an old thread, but just in case you haven't gotten a solution:

You can build a playlist on your own Spotify, and share it with your child through the Spotify Kids app ("grown-ups" settings in the Spotify Kids "Who's Listening" page).

The problem that I, and a few others, are still having is that these shared playlists can't be accessed offline or put in "favorites" to be played offline.

That link doesn’t work, but if you go to the Ideas board and look for the idea: “Spotify Kids: Enable Offline Playback of Shared Playlists/Playlists” and vote for it.

please vote for it. Bc this is seriously weak sauce. I am a die hard Spotify user but it’s a real slap in the face when you are trying to do the right thing for your kid and it’s just freaking near impossible.
