However Malwarebytes read my address from Spotify database - used to create the account. Username is different.

This feature is free in this program - try it yourself by entering your address. You'll be surprised.

Why is my email displayed publicly and how can I prevent it? Malwarebytes has detected such a vulnerability - in Spotify. I don't understand why my email should be visible to anyone. I don't want that. Can I change it in the settings? Where, because I couldn't find it.

What I found on Google - removing the address in the profile settings is not possible. Spotify does not allow you to save from changes without an email address.
The account is sometimes free, sometimes paid individual, but never family.

Hello @Andrew138!

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Community. I'll try to help you out.

The email address used to log into your account isn't displayed publicly for other users, unless you use this address as your username/display name. If that is the case, you can learn how to change it here.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

Hey @Andrew138,

Thanks for letting us know! Just to confirm here - does Malwarebytes show you that the email is vulnerable or does it directly read it and show it in a report/ error message? If yes, what does the latter entail? Once we have confirmation of this (and hopefully some additional details) we'll be able to relay the information backstage 🙂

In the meantime, if you wish to further secure your account, we can suggest adding another login method, e.g. Google/ Apple login and removing your email address. In case you wish to change your active email address, you can do so by following these steps.

Much appreciated! We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
