Queue keeps re-populating

I clear my queue of podcasts, put a couple in, go searching but don't want to add more, so I check back in the queue and it's now full of a podcast I'm not even following. Same one every time. Auto play is off, auto download is off. This is infuriating.

Thanks for reaching out!

Are you starting the playback directly from within the podcast? If so, it's worth checking if the issue persists when using a playlist (a personal one or Your Episodes, for example) instead.

For troubleshooting, I'd recommend starting off with a clean reinstall of the app to see if that helps. If possible, check if the issue persists with another device or another account.

I have exactly the same problem. Spotify seems to not understand how the podcasts queue should work. You choose manually what you want to listen to, add new episodes to the end of the queue, and you can jump from one to another without loosing the whole queue each time. No unwanted auto-populating. This should be so simple.
Google Pods got it right but they closed the app and I've missed it badly ever since.
