Can't activate DJ voice control

According to the Spotify press release [1], I should be able to give voice commands to the DJ by holding down the DJ button in the lower right corner of the app, waiting for it to activate, and speaking. I've tried this on desktop (Mac) and on Android and it never activates. DJ works, and I can tap the DJ button to bring in a new set, but holding down the button doesn't make any sound or play animation, and speaking while holding it down does not affect the next set the DJ plays.

On the Mac I am on the latest build of the app (Spotify for macOS (Apple Silicon)
1.2.65.255.g85e641b4) and on Android I'm on the latest (non-beta) Google Play version, released Jun 2.

Thanks for reaching out on the Community! We hope you don't mind us moving your post to our Help Board, as it fits better here 🙂

While the new DJ request feature isn't available on the desktop app, it should appear for you on the mobile app, as long as you're in a supported market.

Just to check, do you see a message about talking to your DJ while on the DJ screen on Android? It's worth making sure that you're running the latest app version, as well as clearing cache from the app, should the option to make voice requests not appear.

As an option, you can try a clean reinstall instead. This will both clear cache and ensure that you're running the latest version.
