Podcast following list shows all items as 'age restricted video' and won't play

My Question or Issue

My podcast list when I selected my following list is showing all as age restricted video and won't start any of them from that list. I can select an individual podcast and it will allow me to start from the podcasts page. I want to play my queue of new podcasts. I didn't change any settings and had been listening with no issues just yesterday.

I have the same problem as of 7Dec25, on a Pixel 6a. No age verification pop-up and I have explicit content enabled, so no way to resolve.

Same issue since yesterday on pixel 9 pro. Was nice to have a few days with a breaking-bug-less feed since the reverse ordering got sorted.

We were also able to reproduce this on Android and we've passed it on to our tech folks for further investigation. As soon as we hear back from them and have any info to share, we'll let you know, but in the meantime make sure you always keep your app updated to no miss out on a potential fix.

I've been having the same issue starting December 6th. I'm still able to listen and watch all my podcasts, but even the audio only podcasts are showing as age restricted videos.

This is so annoying. Another day another bug. Hope this one won't take as long to fix as the previous one (podcasts in following list appearing in wrong order)

Our tech folks confirmed this should be fixed in version 9.1.4, which isn't live yet so make sure to update your app regularly as already mentioned. We'll post again once this version is out and check with you folks if everything's working as expected then.

I'm having the same issue. The amount of money you guys make, this app should be the most impressive app on the planet. Yet it's not and features break or down right disappear. Maybe an MP3 player and the high seas are calling!!

Last time we had the issue with all new podcast episodes being sorted by ascending which took more than a month to fix, and now we have this. I wonder how long it will take this time. Are you not testing the app on Android before releasing?

This really needs to be resolved, every week we get a new bug that totally breaks podcasts. First it was the reverse sort order, then it was a week of the app not opening at all and crashing podcasts, now you can't play them from the following list anymore because even non video podcasts are flagged as age restricted videos. What is going on over there. You should pay me as much as whoever runs the android team to put up with this

All my podcast thumbnails are blocked out and marked age restricted. No way to fix it as far as I can see. I'm also not willing to take pictures of myself or upload documents to be able to listen to a podcast. Absurd. There are other options in the marketplace.

It is very frustrating. Complexity does not improve function folks. Complexity increases fragility and cost.

Also experiencing issue with thumbnails blocked and 'Age-restricted video' text on all podcasts in the Podcasts->Following view. Started when the reverse order was fixed (also as noted by others). It's starting to seem a little crazy how poorly podcasts are being supported. Since overhauling the podcast experience, which mostly seemed to be a removal of features, it has been a series of bugs and a very sub-par experience.

So damn annoying. Why do they keep breaking a great app? That sorting issue took forever to get sorted so I am guessing this will take another couple months

As previously mentioned that this should be fixed, the new version of the app has been released and you can make sure you've updated Spotify here. Everything should be working fine, but we remain here if you're still experiencing any issues.
