Is there a way to go offline on spotify while still using wifi?

Is there a way to turn Spotify offline so that I listen to the playlists I have downloaded, but while still being connected to wifi? My friend and I share a Spotify and we can't use it at the same time, so I figured out that if I go offline, I can be on Spotify at the same time as she is without interrupting her music. If there is not a way then it would be really cool to toggle offline mode without having to actually be offline.

I have a Mac equipped with OS X El Capitan and I have the most recent version of Spotify.

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Community for help.

You can activate Offline Mode from your settings with the steps here: https://support.spotify.com/using_spotify/playlists/listen-offline/. Just select the device you're using and go to the second list of steps.
