Play.spotify keeps redirecting me to open.spotify

When I look up the web player the url starts out as play but changes to open in a second. Using a link previously saved comes up with a page saying "Sorry, couldn't find that.". I Tried clearing cookies and cache both on firefox and chrome and it still didn't work. Web player works on Edge browser but it keeps on freezing every minute or so
