Sonos radio feature

Hi guys, Can anyone put my mind at rest I have just payed £9.99 premium service through sonos as told it is a better service than napster, but can anybody tell me what features you get with premium account as wee but concerned I haven't got all features I.e I have no radio search on it,it was one of the reasons I went with premium service in first place 😞

I use Spotify via Sonos (some of the time), and all seems ok EXCEPT there is no access to the Spotify 'radio' feature..... not sure if this going to change.... anyone out there know anything??

Sonos developed their own Spotify integration so you would need to ask them. I don't know whether Spotify actually publish an API to allow third parties to use this feature, but at least if you ask Sonos they (might be able to) tell you themselves.

There is an API out there but is apparently lacks the radio features: https://developer.spotify.com/technologies/libspotify/

However, there is at least one third-party app that uses the radio function so it must somehow be usable for developers: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/spoton-radio/id471762418?mt=8

I wonder why Sonos did not manage to get this working after such a long time... 😕

Sonos are saying spotify doesn't allow them to have radio.

Good news, answer from John M (Sonos employee) 1 day ago on Sonos forum :

We just learned that Spotify will make the Radio API available to third-party developers in the next few months. As soon as the API is available, Sonos will begin development on Spotify Radio for Sonos.

Because it's very early in the process we do not yet have a timetable, but you can expect it to be released only when it's ready.

We're most pleased to mark this topic as Planned.

Loosing patience! ! Spotify still lacks decent Sonos integration. Love mySonos, big investment not going to change it any time soon. Love Spotify but very disappointed with the lack of integration and lack of functionality when using it with Sonos. Google Play is looking more and more attractive. If there is no sign of improvement very soon from Spotify I will be reluctantly changing my music streaming service!

After two years of spotify premium with no support for radio on my sonos devices, I have decided - ENOUGH!

I cancelled my subscription and am switching to Google - who finally decided that they would support radio on Sonos

I just wish Spotify had gotten the message!
