Spotify crashes when connecting to chromecast

Hi!

For a while i'm using spotify in combination with a chromecast (2). It worked perfectly till today. When i connect spotify to the chromecast, i see it's connecting but then returning to backdrop. Other things like youtube work, it's just spotify not working. Anyone experiencing the same?

This whole thread is total bull**bleep** and has no solution anywhere.

My chromecast (Gen 2) "brain freezes" EVERY time I try to cast Spotify to it. **bleep** is the darn solution?!?! I've been dealing with this for over 6 F&*%ING months!

I've reset every darn option there is, factory resets everywhere. What is left?

and easy solution is just to switch to Google Music. On top of being a better service it works perfectly 100% of the time with chromecast. Just sayin

Cancelled my membership and went to Google music sick of Spotify doing what they want without thinking of users. Doesn't work on Xbox and doesn't work on Chromecast. It isn't hard. I want to play it through my speakers guys. Google music just works.
