When I look at a friend that is listening to spotify it shows that the song is over (attached) It still changes songs and stuff but thats not even a big issue I dont know if its correlated or not but when I try and join them through their profile or even an invite to the party it dosnt start up the song where they are at it dosnt skip the song it just plays the one song its says they are listening to and then stops

Could you first provide us with your Spotify app version? You can find this in the three-dots menu (top-left corner) > Help > About Spotify.

In the meantime, could you make sure you've tried the following:

Logged out and logged back in to Spotify
Reinstalled both Spotify and Discord
Closed all background apps
Reset your network connection?
