My Question or Issue

Hi!

I have to do a project for a course about networks and I would like to analyse the way artists are interconnected (featuring and labels)

Do you think it's possible for me to get access to a part of spotify database? And if it is, what do I have to do?

I'm not interested in users data and i'm not a developer, so I did not understand much on their platform

Hoping to receive some help or redirection, thank you in advance

Unfortunately, Spotify won't be able to provide you access to their database.

Can you tell me a bit more about the project so that I can figure out if there's any other way I can help you out? 🙂

the objective of the project is to map the collaboration network of artists
on spotify:
i would like to download a portion of the spotify database containing songs
uploaded in a given timespan, matching some criteria like genre and
nationality.
>From this dataset i would like to build the collaboration network in a
dynamic way, looking at how artists decide to perform songs together (based
on the concepts of similarity and social influence based on labels and
common connections)
If you can help me in the filrtering process i would be grateful
i'm not a developer, but as far as i understood, they can get access to a
wide amount of data for building apps on top of spotify and i saw some of
them building an artist network (https://artist-explorer.glitch.me/,
http://labs.polsys.net/playground/spotify/) or measuring the distance from
kayne west (http://sixdegreesofkanyewest.com/), so i think it is possible
to build such network.
the project workshould be carried out on the software R, which requires csv
files as input

The Spotify for Developers platform sounds like something you'll need to check out for more tools/info.

I still cannot access to the database
in particular the client credential flow (i don't need users data), is quite difficult for someone with no programming in his background
