Login deactivated for Tinder?

Hi folks. Just tried to fire up Tinder and link Spotify but am receiving the message that login has been deactivated. Basically, it says that Facebook needs to be downloaded and I need to log in and try again. I've logged out of all three apps, uninstalled and tried logging in again to no avail. I've been able to link it previously but all apps have gone through several updates since. Any thoughts? 🤔

To link Spotify to your Tinder account, just follow these steps. If the issue persists, can you let us know exactly where or after which step are you seeing that error message? A screenshot of it would come in handy to have a better understanding of what might be going on. Make sure to not include any private info.

We'll be on the lookout.

Those steps are not working. I am being blocked as well. Screenshot of message attached.

It would be better if I could just disassociate my Spotify account from Facebook, but somehow that is still not an option.

Thanks for your reply.

This seems to be something on Facebook's end. You can try logging in with the email address registered in your account and your password and not with the Facebook option

If you don't have a password, you can set it using your account's email address here. You can see the email address registered in your account in your overview page here.

If your Spotify account was created through Facebook (which is what it seems based on what you're mentioning) and you want to unlink it from your Facebook profile, we suggest reaching out to our support team through any of these channels so they can further look into it, since this isn't possible to do on the users' end with Facebook-created accounts.

Thank you, that did work! I was able to change my credentials from FB to email/pass, and then use other apps with that info. Much appreciated

This option doesn't work at all, I just don't have a login name. It's my facebook account. Get your contract arranged with fb guys!

It's not Spotify's fault. It's Facebook's. Last year they halted support for logins via an embedded browser. The problem is that Android is still trying to use the embedded browser instead of opening those links in their respective apps. I have that issue with trying to link my Instagram to Tinder too. Getting really tired of these companies deciding what is in our best interest, "for your security/privacy" is a phrase I have come to despise.

1. go to your settings in spotify and set device password
https://www.spotify.com/sk-sk/account/set-device-password/

2. when you link your spotify account in Tinder, log in with their default option. Not FB option. Your username is that long code and password that you set in step one.
3. you are all set up. You are welcome 😄

Been trying to get this to work for about 3 hours now. Just keeps saying an error occurred. I am in support chat right now working on it with someone.
