I can't control Spotify from my Galaxy Watch to play on my phone.

I can play music from both my watch and my phone, but when I try to control the music playing from my phone, it swaps to playing out of my watch. It doesn't automatically swap back, and I don't want to play music from my watch, just my phone.

Hi there!

Could you let us know the following:

Your phone's make, model and OS version.
The model of your Galaxy Watch.
The version of Spotify you're running.

Feel free to let us know the troubleshooting you've done so far so we avoid repeating the steps. If you haven't already, try reinstalling the Spotify app both on your phone and the watch. If that doesn't work, try re-pairing your watch with your phone, then reinstall the apps again.

Same, this must have been broken with the watch app update 😡. I could use my watch as a remote to switch songs on other devices with the same account. Not any more.

Watch: Galaxy Watch 3

Phone: Galaxy S22 Ultra

Android: 12

Changing tunes, let us know if you already reinstalled the app on your phone and Watch and re-paired these devices.

My software version is Tizen 5.5.0.2, R84USQU1CUK3. I have reinstalled both apps. Thanks

Hi @gjbsource,

Thanks for confirming this.

Spotify has recently retired the remote control functionality on all smartwatches powered by Tizen OS, so the app will only work in standalone mode. More information can be found in this post here.
