Ads suddenly playing in podcast

I've been a paid subscriber for many years.

I'm using spotify desktop, OSX, to binge a podcast.

About 30 minutes ago Spotify started injecting ads into the podcast. They are even in the old episodes that I already played, which never had them before.

I pay way too much (for way too little usage) from Spotify to put up with ads. What is going on here, and why are they suddenly all up in my episodes? This could very well be the last straw for me.

FWIW I'm traveling in brasil, and the ONE advert that is played is an incredibly obnoxious brasilian woman - and I don't speak portugese 😄

PS. This junk support think complains endlessly about an error it won't show me, about the captcha, about whatever. Very frustrating to use, at least on FF.

Thanks for sharing this with us!
We suggest taking a look at this answered question regarding the same issue.
Ads are not present while listening to Premium music, but may still get included in Podcasts for all users.
