Does Spotify podcasts have regional restrictions?

I'm from Kurdistan-Iraq and have Spotify Premium, I just saw video from a new Joe Rogan episode and I clicked on the link to watch it on Spotify but the link didn't work, I tried to search for it within Spotify but I couldn't find it, I also can't find other podcasts or the podcast chart! I created a free account and set the country to US and everything is working fine. So, are there a regional restrictions on Spotify podcasts and other content?

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!

Some content may be available in one country, but not in another. Do you have access to other podcasts? If yes, then the one you were trying to play is indeed region-locked, meaning it's not available globally.

If you're unable to play any podcast, however, it's possible that the feature itself isn't available in your region yet. Currently, there are a few countries that don't have access to podcasts in general. This can vary over time, depending on the permissions from rights holders.

This is such a descrimination and a politicized move. Shame on Spotify, YouTube and such content creators. All lies around and fear of opinions. This is such a 1984 by Orwell. But alas, no one hears because it is not convinient to hear.

Ben Azerbaycanlıyım ve Azerbaycanda yaşıyorum. Öğrenci planı ile premium kullanıyorum. Türk podcastlerini(Ortamlarda satılacak bilgi, Hikayeden Adamlar vb...) dinleyemiyorum. Spotifyda arattığımda çıkmıyor, link üzerinden geçtiğimde ise senin ülken için kullanılamıyor diyor spotify. Uzun zamandır böyle ve bu durumdan çok rahatsızım. Lütfen bu sorunu çözmem için bana yardım edin.

My Question or Issue

On both of my devices I can't find podcasts anywhere (only playlists that have some podcasts uploaded). I previously had a premium account in Canada but I moved to Congo (Kinshasa) several years ago and just recently switched my account over to the DRC.
Does Spotify offer less services to countries like the Congo?

Hi, when will I be able to listen podcasts in spotify? Previously, I used to listen to podcasts in spotify but now it isn’t showing anymore. I hope that podcasts will be available in all of the countries as we are paying for it. I am from Bangladesh 🇧🇩

This is actually outrageous i paid for premium I can’t even access some of the premium content because i live in iraqi kurdistan??? Why isn’t audiobooks AND podcasts available in my country this is so absurd tbh L move from spotify

It doesn't make any sense that I POST something and I CAN'T ACCESS IT!!

I'm experiencing the same thing. I started my podcast yesterday but it's saying it's not available in my region but it's working when I connect Apple Podcasts.

Did you fix it?

I have exactly the same issue with being from one country and living in 2 others! How is this not changed, Spotify?
