Why are songs crossfading when I’m listening to an album?

I love the cross fade feature on Spotify. I only like it tho when Spotify is automatically playing music for me or when I’m playing a playlist but if I’m listening to an album cohesively then I don’t want cross fade to activate just because I feel it ruins the experience of the artists album. This usually doesn’t happen but I noticed it a couple days ago.

Does it happen to any album or just some? What device are you using? Have you checked if it also happen with other devices?

Keep in mind that the crossfade will work when playing an album if the shuffle is enabled.

I've been having this issue recently too - really annoying as now I have to turn cross-fade off when listening to an album sequentially and then on again when listening to a playlist on shuffle.

Please put this back to how it used to be Spotify. . .

Hey @danmatthews77,

Thanks for sending us this info and sorry for the delayed reply.

If you want to listen to an album in order, you need to enable Gapless playback in the app settings (this can be done only in the mobile app). Keep in mind that if Gapless playback is on, Crossfade doesn't work if an album is played in order.

If you can't see this option in the app settings, we suggest that you log out from the app then log back in to your account to see if it would show up.

Let us know how it goes.

Gapless playback was already enabled in settings, but logging out and back in to the app seems to have resolved the issue.

My Crossfade is functioning but I don't want it to I didn't turn it on and it doesn't show that it's been turned on it says it's off but it won't stop it's driving me **bleep**ing bananas

I have so many problems with Spotify it's ridiculous
