Just putting this for anyone else who's looking for a solution.

This is usually caused by an issue with your home network, it's congested, slow, or in my case - the "high-end" router my ISP provided me with wasn't as good as they say.

I reconnected all my echo devices to my own personal router, it's one of those fancy ones with like 8 antennas. Even though the download/upload speed was technically lower, it's just able to handle way more traffic (it currently has 18 devices connected).

Zero lag, skipping, audio artifact, etc from there on out. Hope this helps someone. Even if it mean you need to invest a little in your home network infrastructure.

Hello,

sorry in case this topic has been already discussed, but didn't find anything.

I've a problem of lag on both my Amazon devices (an Echo Plus, and a Dot v3):

either I ask Alexa to play a song, or I use the app on my iPhone and then choose Echo as speaker, it takes almost 10 seconds for the song to start.

I've tried with both accounts free and premium, and connected the deviced to both 2.4 and 5.0, with no changes.

If I ask to play the song using Amazon Music, it starts suddenly.

Don't know what to do, and it's really annoying 😞

Any hint?

many thanks!

Hey @user-removed,

Thank you for posting in the Community!

Well this is odd behavior, indeed, so let's see if we can help you with some troubleshooting. Could you confirm that your devices are visible in both your Spotify accounts in the Connect picker window and that there are no instabilities in your network connection?

Have you tried to clean reinstall your Spotify app and also to re-connect your Spotify account with the Amazon account? If you could send over a short screen recording of the situation this will also be of great help for our further Investigation.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

So, really weird situation.

I opened a claim to my new network provider (Sky), knowing perfectly it was not a connection issue as all other services were working perfectly and the network speed pretty high.

Yesterday... magic! It was working perfectly 😐

No explanations, nothing, but it now works.

I just hope they did some remote changes on the router (Sky Hub) as things usually don't get fixed autonomously 🙂

Hope it will continue to work!

many many thanks for your attempt to help!
