Good old Mihail. We miss him. He was seriously engaged with our very reasonable request for a proper shuffle and then he mysteriously disappeared. I guess he was sent to the Gulag for taking Spotify's paying customers seriously when they asked for a proper shuffle?

I really thought I had a connection with Mihail, back in September 2021 when he came into the broken shuffle play discussion, like a choir of angels. He waved his beautiful hands and promised Spotify would look into the broken shuffle play. He asked us, his dutiful servants and fellow shuffle play haters, to provide him with information.

With the grace of a angelic herald, he offered us a Google Docs Form for us to give Spotify this information. We dutifully filled it out, assuming he would be our vessel to to send our issues directly to Our Lord The Spotify Developers.

Sadly, it was not meant to be. The weeks turned into months, without hearing from him, without a single direct message, without a single reply. Mihail promised us salvation but in the end was just another false prophet.

Meanwhile the masses continued to plead on the shuffle play Live Idea, continued to cry out to Our Lord The Spotify Developers for an answer, but we were forgotten, ignored, ghosted.

Perhaps someday, somewhere, another prophet will arise and offer salvation to this flock who is just looking for a working and randomized shuffle play. Yes, a random shuffle play. That thing that every MP3 player, every CD player, every audio device created in the past 25 years has able to successfully manage, except of course, Spotify.

I remember those heady days where it seemed like Spotify was reaching out to us, their paying customers.

I, too, filled out those details, eagerly awaiting a response so that I could impart my knowledge, my depth of experience, to their developers.

Alas it was not to be. While I saw others being touched by the Divine, I found myself shunned. SHUNNED.

Even when I took it upon myself to illustrate through code where the problem might lie, I continued to be ostracised by Spotify and its Developers. Quod licet Iovi non licet bovi, I assume. Never in a million years would one of the Great Unwashed, Hoi Polloi, the Untouchables that are Visual Basic Developers, be allowed into the Holy of Holies.

It made me sad.

please spotify i just had the same artist 12 times in a row (not joking i counted) in a playlist where that artist is only 14% of the total playlist i literally cannot take it anymore
