topic Authenticate Web API with native Spotify app if available in Spotify for Developers

When a user attempts to authenticate with Spotify on my Web App, they are redirected to a new browser page and prompted to enter their username and password. Is there a way to redirect to the native Spotify app if it is installed and authenticate there instead? That way the users wouldn't have to manually enter their credentials. I know this is possible using the ios SDK, can it also be done from a web app?
