I'm developing an application that intends to use Spotify's APIs to control song playback - specifically, starting and switching songs. However, the actual playback of the songs will occur through the Spotify app itself, not within my application. My question is about the commercial use of this feature: Is it permissible under Spotify's current API usage policies to use such functionality in a commercial application? I'm seeking clarification to ensure compliance with Spotify's guidelines for third-party app development.

This functionality is discontinued a couple of years ago.

What do you mean by this functionality is discontinued? I am able to play and switch songs through a third party app that is connected to spotify.
