Using the web developer console, the search endpoint is no longer returning results for genres that include spaces or hyphens. This worked before, and has been broken for about a week:

It's not broke; that genre is just called differently on Spotify: alternative rock

Update: genres with hyphens are working (k-pop, singer-songwriter), genres with spaces are not (alternative rock, musica mexicana, urbano latino, hip hop, dance pop).

You have to specify the market; then alt-rock, alt rock, and alternative rock will return tracks.

I didn't know Spotify was that flexible with searching with genres. Only after looking more closely to your screenshot, I saw the real issue...

Okay, now I'm convinced it's broken for you, after you did exactly what I've suggested. I don't know why it all works on my end though.

(The market is only needed for Client Credentials.)

Yeah, it's a head-scratcher. I just tried with an alternate account and still didn't get any results from the web console.
