topic Spotify Machine Learning Model in Spotify for Developers

Hi!

I was reading the terms and I know I can't use Spotify content to train a machine learning model, but I was hoping to train the model based on Spotify's Million Playlist Dataset and then use the output of my model to add songs to a playlist using Spotify's API. Also, this is only for a personal project, not commercial. I just wanted to clarify that this is allowed before proceeding.

Thank you in advance!

Hi user160,

Thank you for bringing this up in the Community!

After looking into the Spotify Million Playlist Dataset Challenge, I found some important details about the Challenge Rules that I’d like to share with you.

Spotify provides a limited, non-exclusive license to use the data, but only for the purpose of preparing your Challenge Result. It's important to note that any other use of the Spotify data is not allowed. Additionally, to encourage collaboration and the sharing of ideas in this field, you are required to make your source code and any related information used to produce your Challenge Result publicly available.

I hope this helps clarify things! Let me know if you have any other questions.
