null values when using "Get Current User's Playlists" endpoint

I was testing my application that uses the "Get Current User's Playlists" Spotify Web API endpoint and when parsing the JSON response, my application broke. I looked into it and saw null values (playlists) in the "items" key from the JSON response.

To check that it wasn't an issue on my end, I went to the Web API reference page to test out the request and found the same issue (see attached screenshot). I am aware that Spotify has discontinued some of the Web API endpoints recently, but I don't see that the "Get Current User's Playlists" endpoint is included.

Is this a bug on Spotify's Web API, or is this endpoint also affected in the sense that it is hiding data about certain playlists?

Could it be because of point 8, that these playlists are algorithmic or Spotify-owned editorial playlists?

I have the same issue, it seems that only the Spotify Playlist are not loading like LambertSpot said...

Will there be a solution from Spotify??? Because it's really sad that they turn off this feature!

yup, Spotify's API changes broke this. Also, no 30-second previews. this sucks

I honestly think they are on their way to restricting the API all the way. This is just the beginning.

But I’m also getting null values even for playlists I created myself, which shouldn’t be categorised as "algorithmic" or "Spotify-owned editorial playlists"...

Hi gjkr,

Do you have the correct scopes to access the playlists you created? You may need playlist-read-private and playlist-read-collaborative, depending on what kind of playlist it is.

When fetching several playlists the whole request will not fail if some items fail - it will just return `null` for those items. Same thing if you send a Spotify URI that is not corresponding to any item - does not fail the request, only returns `null` for that specific item in the list.
