As far as I know, the 30 second previews do not use the playback endpoints. I think the app can still be considered a non streaming SDA when using the previews but I am not sure. Either way, keep in mind that changes have been made recently that makes the preview_url field always return null in certain scenarios.
Embed Player Commercial Use

Hello

I want to build an app where the Spotify Embed player is integrated. An app user inserts a Spotify link of a song and then the embed player of this song and many more are listed in a vertical scroll. I wouldn't change the Embed Player but I would embed the players into cards.
So my question: Is it allowed to display ads between the cards in the vertical scroll and therefore earn money with the ads? I read the developer terms but didn't quite understand if the embed player has the same terms as the API

I am not sure if this is the same scenario as yours but I had to remove any form of playing tracks in my app to get past this, as my app would also be for commercial use (although not showing ads). I still got rejected for something else but at least they let the fact that my app was a commercial app slide, as long as it was considered a "non-streaming SDA" which means not using any of the playback endpoints whatsoever.

Thanks for your answer. Do you think the 30 seconds preview in the embed player counts as "non Streaming SDA" or not
