Small app to get the BPM and other audio parameters reserved for big sharks now

My Question or Issue

I was about to create a small Python script that would simply analyze our family playlist (about 300-350 tracks) and build a table with filters where we could search for some happy tracks, slow tracks etc..

Unfortunately Spotify disabled it and guess what? In order to get the extended API you need to have an application already working for 12 months and have minimum 250k users per month.

You just killed home devs like me and the possibility of learning and utilizing API. You didn't care about API throttling (let's say 20 requests per minute) - you just cut us off. Being a subscriber to Spotify for more than 3 years (Premium for one year then Family) I'm really considering to cancel this subscription and move somewhere else.

Great job! Another Friday the 13th in history. Killed all homegrown devs in one night!

How anybody can even learn the Spotify API or build mini scripts like me and provide 250k users a month and a 12 month history of App? Have you gone completely insane? Heard about throttling? Heard about paid plans with quotas? JFC! I've been supporting you for years!!! And now you became a stinky dung.
