Upstream Connect Error on Embeds

We are working on a group project that uses spotify embeds and the embeds are giving us upstream connection errors and not loading. I'm not sure how to fix this error or if this is related to an outage of some kind or not. We are kind of dependent on the embeds for our project, so just felt like reaching out for help.

This endpoint has been extremely flakey for me, is there active work being done on this endpoint? Do we think it will land in a stable place soon?

I embedded my podcast widget in my forum website a few weeks ago and it has been working fine. Today, nothing shows except "

no healthy upstream

I cleaned my cache, tried incognito , and nothing changed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I’m experiencing the same issue : my embedded Spotify podcast widget suddenly stopped working and now shows a "no healthy upstream" error. It looks like this is coming from Spotify’s side, a 5XX server error.

I also checked the official Spotify embed documentation (https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/embeds) and it seems that it’s not working properly at the moment.

Hopefully Spotify will fix this soon!

I'm a Web developper from canada and I experience the same issues , I make website for music band , since yesterday all the embeed are not working , ive check everything and its not coming from a problem from my side. I hope they will fix it soon !

I am having similar issues. My 30-sec sample embeds are not loading. Everything was working for months and then poof no warning, or any change in the docs, the entire embed fails to load.

Can reproduce in northern California region, and in EU via a partner developer. I have reported the issue through the support process, but they ended the message by referring to the forum rather than providing a solution. We've temporarily placed an outbound link button to keep some functionality for our web app, but we hope this is resolved shortly.

30 Second Embeds Failing To Load.

My Question or Issue

I built a web app. I followed the embed instructions to get 30-second embeds loaded and working. Everything worked fine for months. Now out of the blue the entire embed fails to load.

I have a button for each song on the page. When you click it it creates a cookie storing the track.uri for the sample track and then refreshes the page. When the page refreshes the elements on the page all shift to the right to make room for the embed but then nothing appears.

This all worked until very recently. I cannot seem to find anything in the documentation that changed or any announcements that they were discontinuing the track sample embeds. Does anyone else have this issue with the 30 second sample embeds?

that is funny, yeah this is frustrating to anyone involved, i realized the issue when i used discord embed spotify link and it doesnt show up. Thats when i also realized neither does on my blog either.

Hope its fixed soon ASAP, this is grave because i just got contacted by a friend who meddle in startup indie song preview app that uses Spotify embed preview that it doesnt work anymore and might affect his work.

Same issue here, embeds went up and down for a bit, and since 2025-08-02 15:16:04 UTC, it stayed down for good. Just had a chat with a member of support, who escalated this to the technical team. They are also looking at this thread. Hoping this will get resolved soon.

Is Spotify aware of the current issue? I’m experiencing problems with all embedded players – none of my album or EP embeds work anymore (showing “no healthy upstream”). Even the official Spotify Developer embed documentation shows the same error. Will this be fixed soon, or are embeds no longer supported? 🙂 Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a newsletter that uses a lot of Spotify embeds and they are all broken, including a playlist I always link to. I've swapped them out for YouTube links and other sites that are stable because I have to publish today. I haven't seen anybody complain about this anywhere else, but I'm assuming it's a widespread problem because even the embed links within the app are broken

. I'm copying links from the desktop app.
